Finally, it's here! Trek's new single speed 69er! Now I know the reasoning behind the name; riding this bike is sensational, arousing, and spine-tingling, much like...you guessed it. If your hot babe upsets you or pisses you off, this is the bike to ride-hands down! It will never turn you down or disappoint you-this bike wants to be ridden hard and it can handle it. Ha, on another note, the name really stands for the 26" wheel on the rear, and the 29" wheel on the front; hence the name, 69er. The only turn off for this bike is that you have to carry 2 rubbers at all times. Yes, you'll have to pack an extra emergency spare. Trust me, it's well worth it. For those of you that are familiar to the 26" wheels, you'll be glad to carry the bigger 29" rubber. You might even impress a few people. The 26" wheel quickly accelerates the bike through tight switch-backs while the bigger 29" front wheel rolls over just about anything in your path with ease and confidence. The combination of the two wheels also provide better traction on steep climbs because the larger front wheel sets you back, putting more of your weight on the rear wheel, all while maintaining perfect positioning and stability. Gary Fisher(Trek owned) has had a line of 29" mountain bikes for quite some time and continues to dominate the two-niner market. Since Trek has the technology and experience of Gary Fisher behind them, they have produced one bad-ass single-speed machine. For someone who has a super dope(sorry rob) 29" Gunnar Rockhound, i'm impressed with Trek's newborn 69er.
